A significant number of lifeboat callouts to pleasure craft are for engine failure. However, many of these failures could have been avoided or repaired with some basic knowledge of how a diesel engine operates. This hands-on course should help you find your way round a diesel engine and avoid the risk of becoming a lifeboat callout statistic.
Course Structure
The four stroke cycle, the cooling system, the fuel system, spare and tools, fault finding, winterising and servicing.
