Duration: A 1 day classroom based course.
Previous experience required: None.
Content: This first aid course covers the usual first aid subjects but puts it into context from a boating perspective. Subjects specific to boating include :
•Recovery position in a confined space.
•CPR including the drowning protocol.
•Cold shock from immersion or exposure.
•Hypothermia from immersion or exposure.
•Seasickness.
•Dehydration.
•Medical assistance or advice by VHF.
•Helicopter rescue.
At the end of the course the student will be awarded a RYA First Aid Certificate with Category C endorsement.
