The Intermediate course is a practical course, however due to the navigation skills that need to be taught we must spend half of the first day and a small amount of the second day in the classroom.
At Guardian Marine the culmination of the course is that each student will be responsible for the navigation and safe passage of the vessel during their own section of a 30 to 50 mile journey.
•All students should be competent to the standard of Level 2 National Powerboat Certificate.
•It is strongly recommended that candidates hold a first aid certificate and a VHF operator's certificate.
Lifejackets and waterproofs are supplied.
• Warm clothing.
• Suitable footwear for being on board a high speed craft such as deck shoes, sailing boots (not gardening wellies please) or old trainers.
• If you wish to use your own foul weather gear, please bring it. You may also bring your own lifejacket but it must conform to EN 396, be in good condition and have a minimum buoyancy of 150 newtons.
•A change of clothing. In case of emergency.
