RYA Level 1 (Start Sailing)

This two day course provides the skills and background knowledge needed by the competent powerboat driver and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence.This course provides boat handling and seamanship in powerboats in a coastal environment, and includes:

•boat handling - high & low speed

•anchoring

•man overboard

•emergency situations

•types of craft & power units

•coastal & tidal instruction

This course is for powerboats up to 10 metres, and is suitable for ages 14+ (under 16's will have their certificate endorsed to be supervised by an adult until they are 16).

The ratio of students to instructors will not exceed 3:1
