The course provides candidates with the skills and techniques to enable them to teach the powerboat scheme within an RYA training centre. The course is run over 4 days, the first day of which is an assessment that has to be passed before you can continue with the course. If you wish to discuss the standard please contact the office.
The remaining 3 days introduces the techniques and skills required to deliver the national powerboat scheme and effective training of people both afloat and ashore. The course is moderated on the last day.
Please note the following pre-requistes for this course:
•RYA Powerboat Level 2 (Coastal)
•First Aid Certificate (7 hour minimum)
•At least two years powerboating experience
•Minimum age 16
•Membership of the RYA
The ratio of students to instructors will not exceed 6:1 (using two boats).
