RYA Radar

This one day RYA course provides skills in understanding the radar screen and interpreting the display for collision avoidance and navigation.

Modern radar is an invaluable tool for the leisure boater, but is only useful in the hands of a knowledgeable operator, and is potentially dangerous if used when unfamiliar with its strengths and weaknesses.

Practical sessions include using the screen controls, plotting targets and navigational techniques, using software simulators and real radar equipment onboard a vessel when practical.

No previouse experience is required, however, some basic navigation knowledge would be an advantage.
