RYA Sea Survival

The RYA Sea Survival course is a 1 day course providing an understanding of how to use the safety equipment carried on small boats, including a practical session in launching and boarding a liferaft.

The morning is spent in the classroom investigating survival equipment and the techniques required to survive a disaster at sea. Equipment including life jackets, and life rafts are considered and guidance is provided on the principles of survival.

The afternoon is spent in open water inflating, boarding and righting a ten man life raft, swimming in an exposure suit and applying the initial actions required to safeguard the life raft on launching.
