Owners of hand held, or fixed, marine radio sets are required by law to hold an operator’s licence.
This online course teaches the procedures for operation and the licence awarded is a pre-requisite for any RYA/MCA Yachtmaster qualification.
It is also a very important qualification before you tackle the Day Skipper Practical qualification or intend to bare boat charter, or apply for Commercial Endorsement
If you hold a licence issued pre 1999 you will need to upgrade your qualification if you purchase VHF equipment with Digital Selective Calling (DSC) facility
