Summary
Burgess recruitment is currently seeking a 2nd Officer for a 50m+ yacht
This Second Officer role is primarily deck-oriented but includes holding a navigational watch, requiring an OOW (Officer of the Watch) license. You will lead a team of 3 deckhands and report to the Chief Officer and Master. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified OOW to gain hands-on experience aboard a reputable, well-maintained yacht.
Requirements
- OOW Certificate (mandatory)
- This would be ideal for an experienced bosun
- Strong deck operations experience
- Motivated and eager to develop navigation and leadership skills
- Team-oriented and comfortable working in a structured crew environment
- Strong Large tender driving skills
Duties onboard would also include LSA/FFE inspections, testing GMDSS equipment and keeping the garbage record log up to date.
Start date: TBC
Location: Barcelona for this winter
Salary: EUR 5000 DOE
Leave: 60 days

Vessel Program and itinerary: Private, well-maintained vessel. Exciting cruising itinerary ideas, TBC. 10 year survey scheduled for the 2025/2026 winter with a full paint job.
