Burgess recruitment is currently seeking a Head Chef for an 80m yacht
We are currently seeking an experienced yacht Chef to join a New Build vessel with delivery set for end of June 2025 (but may change).
Requirements / Ideal candidate
- Previous experience as Head Chef on vessels 65m+
- Schengen visa or EU national.
- Proven experience in Michelin-starred restaurants or luxury private yachts/estates.
- Expertise in Mediterranean, Japanese, and health-focused cuisine.
- Strong skills in handmade pasta, artisanal pizzas, and sushi preparation.
- Ability to create tasting menus with wine pairings.
- Passion for farm-to-table cooking and locally sourced ingredients.
- Highly organized, adaptable, and able to perform under pressure.
- Experience working with high-net-worth individuals, demonstrating professionalism and discretion.
- Fluent in English (additional languages are a plus).
Key Responsibilities
- Create Michelin-star-quality meals tailored to the owners’ preferences and dietary needs.
- Specialize in Mediterranean, Japanese (including sushi & yakitori), seafood, handmade pizzas, and light pastas.
- Prepare microgreen-based salads and health-conscious, high-end meals.
- Design multi-course tasting menus with wine pairings in collaboration with a sommelier.
- Oversee galley operations, including provisioning, budgeting, and inventory management.
- Maintain impeccable hygiene, food safety, and quality control standards.
- Adapt menus to seasonal, locally sourced ingredients for the freshest possible experience.
- Work closely with the yacht crew to deliver an outstanding guest experience.
Start date: 01 April
Location: Netherlands
Salary: TBC
Leave: 42 days leave prorated until delivery, then will be on a single rotational contract once the vessel is operational – leave will be 6 months/year - flexible schedule to coincide with owner onboard.
Vessel Program and itinerary: Private vessel, dual season programme once operational.
