Summary
An experienced, punctual, hard-working, and trustworthy Contract EOOW / Y3 Engineer is required for a 70m+ motoryacht that is currently preparing for a bucket list voyage from the remote waters of the Southern Ocean all the way to Greenland. This is truly a fantastic opportunity for the right person who has the qualifications, experience, and character to handle the 2-month trip. It is also a great opportunity to secure sea time, so all candidates are welcome to apply. You should come with solid references and a good track record on yachts over 60 metres. The vessel operates without UMS so you will need to be able to hit the ground running, install confidence in your onboard colleagues, and be competent to figure out systems quickly whilst operating to the highest safety standards.
The role starts February 25th, 2025 (joining location to be released to shortlisted candidates) and ends April 20th, 2025 with an island stop in between.
Job Specification
- Valid STCW '10 Certificates
- Valid ENG1 Medical with no restrictions
- Proficiency in Designated Security Duties (PDSD)
- Preferably 3+ years on a large yacht holding the required ticket
- Minimum EOOW or Y3 COC—this is not negotiable
- Experience with non-UMS operations is important. i.e. 24/7 engine room watchkeeping
- Higher ticket advantageous
- Good health and good sobriety
- Must speak fluent English
- Must have good written references and contact details must be provided
