Summary

Position: Sole Engineer - US citizen or green card/US Resident - TEMPORARY 

Sole engineer from 7th-18th April. 7th-10th will be a handover by the second engineer.  11th-18th will be guest trip. U.S. citizen or permanent resident. CoC and STCW. Shared cabin. Bahamas trip. Join and leave at Fort Lauderdale.   

USCG equivalent to Y3 (can have all courses completed and just needs sea time as well)

Under 4000kW/5200HP - less than 500gt

  4. Be happy to share a cabin with the male Mate when on guest trips. 
  5. Be happy to either do late watches or early watches in guest on mode.
  6. Participate in the gangway watch schedule.
  7. Pass a background check.

 

EXPECTATIONS OF THE ENGINEER

 

  • Perform the role with enthusiasm and dedication.
  • Understand that the Engineer is responsible for ensuring the yacht’s equipment and machinery is in good working order at all times by performing fixing and maintenance tasks 
  • Start work punctually.
  • Follow the preventative maintenance schedule and perform maintenance duties as required by the schedule.
  • Fix unexpected equipment failures promptly and in the best manner possible.
  • Keep the engine room and all related engineering work spaces clean, organized and in immaculate condition.
  • Prioritize maintenance tasks and equipment fixes depending on what is happening.
  • Be capable of and figure out how to operate all of the equipment and systems on the boat such as engines, generators, AV, oil water separators, fuel transfer pumps, etc.
  • Log what he or she had done each day and to what piece of machinery or equipment.
  • Complete all documentation he or she is required to do so such as oil record book or departure check lists or unexpected failure list or preventative maintenance records. To be done in the required manner and timescales specified by Class, Flag and the Master.
  • Participate in the gangway watch schedule when on the dock.
  • Participate in the anchor watch schedule when at anchor.
  • Help out other departments when and where needed on board.
  • The candidate ideally will have a Cayman Island discharge book and be comfortable using Triton software.
