Summary
M/Y a 38m classic yacht built by Royal Hakvoort, is seeking an experienced and professional Captain to take command from the end of April 2025. This is a permanent position with a negotiable salary based on experience.
About the Yacht
M/Y is a commercially operated yacht that serves a private family while also undertaking occasional charters during the season. Built in 2017, she combines classic elegance with modern amenities, including a full-displacement steel hull, advanced stabilizers, and long-range cruising capability. She operates extensively in the Mediterranean and has experience in transatlantic crossings and U.S. East Coast cruising.
Key Responsibilities
- Full command of the yacht, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
- Managing all aspects of vessel maintenance, compliance, and crew leadership.
- Overseeing guest and owner experiences, ensuring a high level of service.
- Passage planning and navigation, including potential transatlantic crossings.
- Managing budgets, provisioning, and charter operations when applicable.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Captain on similar-sized vessels.
- Strong technical knowledge and seamanship skills.
- Experience with both private and charter yacht operations.
- Confident in managing long-range cruising and crossings.
- Leadership skills with the ability to maintain a positive crew environment.
- All necessary licenses and certifications in place. II/2 (MN) Master (Y) Under 500GT
- Valid STCW/Advance/ENG1/Security
