Summary
First Mate – Performance Sailing Yacht (82ft) – Immediate Start
We are seeking a Mate to join an 82ft Southern Wind performance cruiser for the 2024 charter season. This is a busy charter yacht, with 4 weeks booked and 8-9 weeks expected, alongside light owner usage.
The Role
This is a multi-faceted position on a yacht run with three crew. A solid understanding of modern sailing yachts is essential, as all crew participate in sail handling maneuvers and watchkeeping during deliveries.
Requirements
- Yachtmaster (preferred)
- STCW / ENG1 / PB2
- Valid driving license
- Strong deck and sailing experience
- Hands-on, team-oriented, and adaptable
Responsibilities
Off-Charter & Pre-Season:
- Deck and deck locker maintenance
- Basic winch maintenance
- Assisting the captain with yacht-wide maintenance and checks
On-Charter:
- Guest cabin and guest area upkeep
- Guest service & hospitality
- Deck work (shared with the captain)
