Salary: €5,500-6,500 DOE
Minimum Requirements:
- RYA Yachtmaster Offshore or Master 200GT
- Valid STCW and ENG1 medical certificate
- Schengen Visa or valid EU Residence Permit
- Minimum of 2 years as SY Captain on similar-sized yachts
Preferred Qualifications:
- AEC 2, Diesel Engine course.
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Captain to take command of a stunning, full-carbon 21m new build sailing yacht (Y7). The yacht will be delivered in August in Germany, with an initial itinerary including a delivery trip to Helsinki and onward to Malta, where she may remain over the winter( TBC) Plans for spring/summer 2026 include cruising the Western Mediterranean (TBD).
This is a private program for an active owner who enjoys sailing and cruising with family and friends (max 8 guests), primarily for short trips and day use. The yacht will run with a lean crew year-round, with potential for temporary support during peak season.
The Captain will be fully responsible for the day-to-day operations, maintenance, safety, and navigation of the vessel, including overseeing any post-delivery warranty work. The home base (Palma or South of France) is flexible and will be agreed in line with the vessel’s schedule.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as Captain on similar-sized sailing yachts
- Strong sailing skills, ideally with regatta experience/background
- Excellent English communication skills
- Hands-on approach and proactive attitude
- Confident managing vessel logistics, guest care, and technical oversight
- EU passport or valid Schengen visa
