Job Description:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Day Skipper for the summer season aboard a privately owned yacht operating primarily for charter use. The yacht will be moored in Porto Cervo and used for daily or multi-day charters along the Sardinian coast and Corsica.
This is a solo role — the captain will be the only crew member on board and is responsible for both navigation and daily cleaning of the yacht. No additional onboard staff is provided. The yacht is also used for promotional purposes (e.g., influencer events), and an NDA may be required depending on the guest.
Responsibilities:
- Safe navigation and operation of the yacht during charters
- Daily cleaning and maintenance of the vessel
- Hosting small groups of guests (the yacht can welcome up to 10 ppl but groups are normally smaller)
- Monitoring and managing onboard expenses and company credit card use
- Liaising with a company representative who accompanies guests during embarkation
- Representing the yacht and company in a professional manner at all times
Requirements:
- Based in the Olbia / Porto Cervo / Arzachena area (local candidates only as daily commute is necessary)
- Previous experience as captain (charter, private, or rental)
- Able to manage the yacht independently
- Intermediate English proficiency
- Comfortable working in a promotional or social environment
- Available for a video interview as part of the selection process
- Vessel arrives in Sardinia in early May
- Italian Patente Nautica (Category A), with commercial endorsement will also be considered
Schedule:
- Standard working hours: 9am – 6pm
- Free days when there are no bookings (approx. 1 day off per week)
- Responsibility for the yacht even when not in use
