Overview
180ft Classic Feadship, US-flagged, operating under a mix of private and charter use, is seeking a full-time, non-rotational Chief Engineer. This is a stable and long-term position with a very fair time off/life balance.
Applicants may live ashore, provided they are able to participate in the vessel’s watch schedule. The vessel runs with 8 full-time crew and expands to 10 when on charter.
The yacht is owned by lovely American owners from the South, who are respectful, professional, and crew-oriented.
Itinerary
The yacht is primarily US-based, following a regular cruising schedule:
- ~6 months in Florida
- ~3 months in New England
- ~3 months in the Bahamas
The vessel also completes an annual yard period in Florida, with a major engine room refit scheduled this year, including:
- New generators
- New watermakers
- New A/C system
- Additional general maintenance and upgrades
Crew & Support
- The Captain and Mate are both licensed engineers, well-versed in classic Feadship operations
- Strong support and guidance will be available throughout
- The Engineer has a private cabin in the crew area
Requirements
- Must hold a U.S. passport or legal permanent residency
- Strong engineering experience, ideally with classic yachts
- Team player with a hands-on approach
- Willingness to engage in the watch schedule
Compensation
- Salary: $10,000/month
- Benefits: Standard package
