This 1/2-day course has been designed specifically to provide non-helideck crew with a professional awareness of working safely around the heildeck and helicopter. Although not every crew member will work directly with the helicopter or on the helideck, it is highly desirable that all crew understand the basic safety aspects of helicopters. For instance, interior may be required to prepare for the owner or guests to come onboard and they should understand how the helicopter may affect their duties. Also, non-helideck crew may well become required to assist the helideck crew in the event of an accident or incident on the helideck involving the helicopter.
The course can be tailored to the needs of individual yachts/clients but the basic course covers:
- Helideck team roles & responsibilities
- Hazards & precautions associated with conducting helicopter operations from aviation-capable large yachts
- Industry best-practice basic Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) & Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs), including conducting Medical Evacuations (Medevacs)
We often deliver this training course during a visit to train helideck crew but we are able to deliver it either at our UK training site at Daedalus Airfield, near Southampton, or onboard clients' yachts, anywhere, worldwide.
