MCA Large Yacht Helicopter Refuelling

This course is one of 4 courses which make up the MCA's Large Yacht Helideck Safety Training Syllabus for helideck crews onboard large commercial yachts, including Helicopter Landing Officers (HLOs) and Helideck Assistants (HDAs). It trains crew in the safe refuelling of helicopters onboard refuel-capable yachts.

The aim of this MCA-accredited course is to give delegates a basic understanding of what is required to refuel helicopters at sea, safely. It covers basic system design, aviation fuel theory and refuelling & defuelling procedures.

Trainees must have completed the following courses, prior to attending this module:

- STCW 95 Basic Training

The practical sessions utilise our bespoke helicopter Refuel Training System (RTS) to add realism to the training, for courses run at our UK site. If the training is delivered onboard a client's yacht, this will include practical training using the yacht's helideck equipment, wherever possible.

This course is made up of both theory and practical sessions; the course content includes:

- Refuelling regulations & system design

- Aviation fuels

- Helicopter refuelling equipment

- Aviation fuel sampling

- Helicopter refuelling & defuelling

We are able to deliver this course either at our UK training site at Daedalus Airfield, near Southampton, or onboard clients' yachts, anywhere, worldwide. Please note that course dates listed above are planned for delivery at Daedalus Airfield.
