This one-day course provides persons intending to work at sea with a basic induction to safety procedures, accident prevention, employment conditions and the working environment on board ships.
PSSR is one of the four basic safety training courses required by all persons working at sea under the STCW code.
Course Structure
Topics covered during this course include:
•Shipboard organisation / General shipboard terms
• Shipboard duties and responsibilities
• Safe working practices
•Emergency procedures
•Understanding and controlling fatigue
• Pollution prevention
•Social responsibility
Assessment will be by written examination (short answer questions), oral questioning, simulation and role play.
