Our client is a well-established marine company working on innovative technical projects based on the river just outside Liverpool! They are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to work within a multi-disciplined engineering department as well as work with clients, suppliers and contractors!
Responsibilities:
Production of design drawing using Solidworks 3D CAD.ranging from systems design, control panel design, wiring harness design. Installation drawings, including schematics, panel arrangements, parts lists, wiring diagrams and cable schedules. Working to British (BS), European (EN), International (ISO) and Classification Society standards.Generate project documentation including design calculations, test specifications and procurement information.Maintain project records in accordance with internal QA procedures and ISO 9001.Development of functional system diagrams and descriptions.Integration of electrical parts and systems in close cooperation with other departments.Management of all electrical / data interfaces between systems developed in-house & subcontracted.Routing of cables and harnesses in 2D (and 3D if required).Supporting yard during production and commissioning till vessel delivery.Contribute to design studies and proposals for new projects.The key accountabilities for the Electrical Design Engineer are: professional engineering documentation; performance to project budgets and milestones; completion & acceptance of work to client satisfaction and to relevant approvals.You will have experience with;
Electrical design engineering experience within a marine, automotive or similar industry. CAD experience is necessary and experience of Solidworks would be advantageous, however Solidworks training can be provided.Essential skills with communication and attention to detail.Hands on experience with complex electrical installations is desirableExperience working on Defence projectsA Degree in Electrical Engineering or HND level with 2-3 years of relevant experience
