POSITION SUMMARY
Working within a luxury yacht business to aid the electrical systems design and engineering within the department, helping to advance Luxury designs into a new era. You are to help produce detailed electrical plans for manufacture and production within all fields of yacht design.

MAIN DUTIES
Function all tasked electrical engineering requirements, to aid delivery of all New Product Introduction, custom requests, facelift programmes and production support within luxury yachts.
Be able to produce drawings to full production level, including detailed technical routing/schematic drawings, to enable the production teams and external contractors to efficiently produce the yacht and its components.Have a clear understanding of marine electrical systems used throughout yachts, whilst looking at developments within the marine sector helping develop newer technology integration throughout the range.Produce drawings and specification documents to allow quotation, purchase, and manufacture of components.Liaise with both the internal purchasing team, external suppliers, and the production teams within the business.Engagement with DFMA activities to optimise implementation in productionTesting and proving of new product both in factory and at sea.Have a clear understanding of marine standards including RCD, MCA, IMO, classification and certifying authorities’ requirements, including an understanding of structural calculations from both first principles and class requirements.Occasional travel between design and manufacturing sites will be required.Attend relevant boat and trade shows.Some foreign travel may be required.Supplier meetings and visits.Ensure that the product complies with all relevant Codes and Classifications.To liaise with other departments within the business to ensure designed components, meet target costing and Production expectancy.To be able to liaise with the production line to discuss design requirements and issues.Attend various meetings and support Design For Manufacture and Assembly reviews, including any necessary testing activity.Key requirements
Degree level qualification.Design and practical experience in the yachting sector.Experience with PLM - Desirable.Design and practical experience in the yachting sector - DesirableExcellent communication skills. Comprehensive knowledge of yacht production techniques and processes – DesirableA ‘can do’ problem solving attitude combined with strong team working skills is essential.
