Fishing Mate for 30M Private Vessel (Caribbean)
We are seeking a highly skilled and professional Fishing Mate to join a 30M private vessel based in the Caribbean for the next year.
This position requires a candidate with a passion for fishing, strong seamanship abilities, and mechanical expertise, as well as proven longevity on a previous vessel for at least one year.
- Qualifications: Yachtmaster or 100-ton license preferred, with a minimum of one year of longevity on a similar-sized vessel
- Experience: Extensive fishing experience required; diving skills are a plus
- Skills: Mechanically inclined and capable of assisting in maintenance and troubleshooting
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all fishing activities, ensuring gear, tackle, and equipment are in top condition along with taking care of the tender
- Assist the Captain with navigation, vessel operations, and deck management
- Maintain deck and fishing equipment to the highest standards
- Perform routine mechanical checks and assist with repairs and preventative maintenance
