The Role
We are looking for a dedicated and high-achieving Mechanical Design Engineer to join our innovative research, development, and manufacturing firm in the clean marine propulsion industry. Our current team of systems, electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers is expanding rapidly.
You will collaborate with a diverse team and partner with educational institutions, offering numerous opportunities for growth, learning, and career advancement.
Essential Skills for a Mechanical Design Engineer
You must hold a Degree in mechanical engineering or product design, or significant relevant experience.
Over 3 years in marine, automotive, manufacturing, or electric vehicle sectors.
Capable of developing high-level design concepts for complex challenges.
Proficient in SolidWorks (or equivalent) CAD software.
Strong mechanical drafting skills.
Practical experience in prototyping and modifying components.
Proficient in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for structural evaluation.
Understanding of material selection for marine applications.
Desirable
Commitment to environmental sustainability
Passion for marine engineering
Knowledge of materials and manufacturing techniques (casting, machining, fabrication, molding).
Boat operation experience
Proficient in CFD for thermal and flow analysis
Experience with cabling and piping in mechanical designs
Skilled in designing electromechanical components
Expertise in hydraulic system design and integration
Experience in life-cycle assessments for environmental impact evaluation
Familiarity with quality management systems like ISO9001.
