The candidate specification
We are looking for a skilled Lead Deckhand to join a private 90m+ yacht, with the position commencing in February, ideally at the start of the month. This opportunity is suited for someone with a Yachtmaster certification and exceptional tender-driving abilities. Familiarity with land-based sports such as golf, tennis, or paddle is highly desirable. While expertise in these sports isn’t mandatory, a solid understanding and interest are essential. This is a highly guest-facing role.
As the Lead Deckhand, your responsibilities will include maintaining the yacht’s exterior, operating tenders, and assisting with guest activities. You’ll be involved in all deck operations, including fishing, watersports, and supporting guests in golf and tennis activities. The role requires you to follow instructions from senior crew members and work independently when needed.
Candidates must have at least two years of experience in the yachting industry and hold STCW, CCM, and PDSD certifications.
This role offers a 3:1 rotation with 90 days of leave, comprehensive medical insurance, a longevity bonus, and bi-annual bonuses. The ideal candidate is experienced, reliable, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team, without necessarily seeking a leadership position.
