The Candidate Specification
We are looking for a motivated and ambitious 2nd Officer who is eager to step up and gain valuable experience on a larger yacht. This role is ideal for a Bosun or Mate from a smaller vessel looking to expand their knowledge and take on greater responsibility.
The yacht offers an excellent opportunity to learn bridge duties, including passage planning, ECDIS management, and garbage rota responsibilities. While this is a full-on 2nd Officer position, you will also be expected to assist on deck as needed.
You\\\'ll be joining a team of 5 deckhands on a yacht known for its strong crew culture and longevity; many deck team members have been on board for over two years. The owner follows a structured schedule, ensuring clear gaps for leave.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain significant sea time while being part of an experienced and supportive team.
- Required Experience: Previous experience as a Bosun or Mate on a smaller yacht, Strong deck skills and willingness to assist on deck when needed, Keen to learn bridge operations and take on officer responsibilities, Strong work ethic, team player, and eager to develop in a structured environment
