Summary
Burgess recruitment is currently seeking a detail-oriented and flexible Junior Purser/2nd Steward(ess) for a 60m+ motor yacht.
The ideal candidate is a strong/experienced 2nd Steward(ess) who will gain the benefit of extra purser admin duties and a more lead service role during commercial charters.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as 2nd Steward(ess) on similar sized vessel
- STCW, ENG1, F&HL2
- Schengen visa
Advantageous:
- B1 visa if joining before crossing from U.S to Europe
In this role, you will work closely with the Captain, Head of Service, and Head of Housekeeping to provide vital support in ensuring smooth operations aboard. You will collaborate directly with the Head of Housekeeping on interior administration, including uniform management, provisioning, orders, handling invoices and quotes, and managing contractor relationships. This partnership ensures all administrative duties are covered efficiently, with responsibilities shared between you and the Head of Housekeeping.
Additionally, you will take over the Head of Housekeeping’s administrative duties during their time off, and vice versa when you are on leave. Crew flights, visas, and accounts will be managed by the Chief Officer and Captain in your absence.
While your primary focus is on administrative tasks, you will also assist the interior team with back-of-house maintenance and cleaning, with an 80/20 split of Purser/Stewardess duties. During owners’ trips, you will primarily act as a 2nd Stewardess, providing support across both service and housekeeping—typically in a 75% housekeeping and 25% service role. For charter trips, you will focus on guest concierge duties and service but may be needed in housekeeping as well. This position requires the ability to shift between roles to ensure a seamless operation, making it ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Start date & location: Ideally ASAP in Miami before crossing over to the Med, or 06 or 10 April in Europe.
Package: EUR 6000/m, 60 days leave per year, 2 flights. Possible review after probation.
