RYA VHF Marine Radio (SRC)

Course Overview: Mandatory requirement for any voluntary VHF radio user. Ensure a working knowledge of maritime radio systems in situations such as distress, urgency or safety and routine working.

Teaching & Assessment: The course will provide both a practical and theoretical mixture. Optional online course available. RYA assessment required at end of course.

Course content:

• Understand VHF radio operation and channel use

• Understand Distress, safety and urgency procedures

• Use of digital selective calling systems

• Use of Navtex, EPIRB and SART
