We are currently seeking a professional and experienced Chief Stewardess to join a 164ft Westport private yacht, based in the U.S. This is a full-time, hands-on leadership position heading up an interior team of two, working closely with a very involved Owner. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, exceptional service skills, and excellent organizational abilities to maintain the yacht's high standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interior Management: Oversee the daily operation and upkeep of the yacht’s interior, ensuring that all daily, weekly, and monthly tasks are completed to the highest standards.
- Team Leadership: Manage and guide a team of two stewardesses, promoting teamwork and high performance across the department.
- Owner & Guest Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for the Owner while onboard. Deliver top-tier service, with the support stews focusing on behind-the-scenes operations. Maintain communication with the Owner even when they are not onboard.
- Provisioning & Inventory: Handle all provisioning for guests and crew, including uniforms, wines, and other miscellaneous interior items.
- Budget & Accounting: Maintain monthly interior accounts, ensuring accurate and organized reporting.
- Inventory Oversight: Conduct full interior inventories twice annually for management purposes.
- Maintenance Coordination: Collaborate with the Engineer to maintain the condition and functionality of the interior, including AV systems. Coordinate with contractors during yard periods to complete necessary maintenance.
- Guest Experience: Work closely with the Captain to plan itineraries, arrange guest activities, and handle restaurant reservations, often liaising with agents when needed.
- Culinary Coordination: Partner with the Head Chef to manage and update preference sheets, ensuring a personalized and seamless guest experience.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as Chief Stewardess or strong Second Stew ready to step up on similar-sized vessels
- Strong leadership, communication, and service skills
- Experience with inventory systems, budgeting, and vendor coordination
- Confident working closely with Owners and high-profile guests
- Strong knowledge of yacht interior maintenance and presentation standards
- Familiarity with AV/IT systems a plus
