Cook/Steward(ess)
Salary : EUR 2500 to EUR 3500 Per Month
On some smaller yachts or on yachts that have downsized their crew for the winter you could find a Cook/Stew. The candidate would be required to carryout stewardess duties and also cooking. On a very small yacht this would be for the owner and guests and on a larger yacht this could be cooking just for the crew with assistance on the interior.
Qualifications, training and skills required
- Restaurant background as a Chef/Cook
- Not mandatory to have any formal qualifications or training, however any basic training or cooking qualifications would be advantageous
- Food safety and Hygiene certification
- Knowledge of food safety & Storage
- Good knowledge of produce
- Good understanding of nutrition
- Awareness of allergies and dietary needs
- Provisioning
- Ability to budget
- An interest in the latest dieting trends
- Housekeeping, laundry and service experience
Extra desired training
- Prior on board experience in either the galley or interior
- Culinary training
